Indie Game Development Fun

Just wanted to let everyone know that we are ramping up on the back end to prepare for release of a demo.  There are a lot of items which must be taken into consideration to protect us.  Some of these items include Copyright / Trademark registration.

Please be patient with us as we work out the legal details, we want to prepare for a successful launch.

Thank you for your support.

Random, Scenario, and Training Added

Added three play modes, each offer its own benefits.  I only started working on these, so after some time I should have some pretty fun stuff.

Random:  Random items will be broken and when board is completely repaired, you beat scenario and get another.  Each round offers their own rewards.  This is really used for fun / bug testing all items.
Scenario:  This will be scenario based situations that links problems with actual failures that need to be analyzed and resolved.  Use the skill you gain from the Training to take these on as they will get more and more difficult.
Training:  This is the one item I am coding first as it verifies controls are understood, and explains how the game is played.  Once you pass the basics, you begin to learn about technology as it is broken down and explained piece by piece.  You will learn terms, methods, hardware, and general technology while traveling through the ranks of training.

SouthBridge / CR2032 Socket & Battery etc.

Tonight I was able to finish coding the interaction between the user and the PCI Slots, PCIe Slots, and the AGP Slot.  I was able to completely add / finish the code on the SouthBridge, CMOS Battery socket, and the actual CR2032 Battery.  I will show an image below of the new additions, but also will share some Isle of Polm pictures to add more interesting things to this post haha.  This Isle of Polm project was the one that taught me most of my programming skills as it was an online survival game.

Demo Video #9

I got a bit tired this evening, so I thought it would be good to share some game play.  I was able to patch a lot of existing bugs that were found by my test team which is good.  Please ignore the SATA port labeling, I didn’t get to code them yet.  Thoughts?

Some Screenshots!

01

Heatsinks such as this will react based upon the screws, this one has a slight tilt.

02 Chips that have the heatsink removed will also need to have the thermal paste reapplied.  Good sound for thermal paste too, wonder if you can guess what that is.

04

Removing components via the solder

03

Components can be interacted with which may include screws, latches, cabling, power, animations, etc.

05

The Inventory view

Overall the game has been “redesigned”, even from the music, to the audio, to the code, to the intro.  More to come very soon.

The main idea of the game (read this first if you visit the site for the first time)
